Just Can’t Get Enough
March 19th, 2011

Alright…so most of you probably don’t know that I was fired a few months ago from my job at a grocery store. I was there for nearly 2 years and a half and despite how much I hated the job, I sort of miss it. I was a cart pusher (pushing carts in any weather) and it sucked. Even though the job was terrible, I would get a decent amount of hours and I’d always get paid every Thursdays. Unfortunately, I came in to work late way to many times and I’ve paid the price by being unemployed and broke all the time. I’ve never been so frustrated when it comes to money, but now I am.

Not having a job has sort of ruined my life in a way. I’m always at home being a bum and not doing anything. I barely go out anymore like I used to, but that was sort of the reason why I was fired in the first place. Going out the night before work and sleeping in and coming late to work the next morning. I guess I took advantage of being 19. Now being out of school and not having a job has made me bored all the time. I don’t even have school until September. It’s not like I’m purposely being a bum. I’ve been looking for a job, sending my resumes from store to store. But right now jobs are kind of hard to find. Hopefully I’ll find a job soon because I’m tired of this. I’m starting to believe that my friends are sort of disrespecting me because I’m unemployed. They always crack jokes about me not having a job, and I know they’re kidding but sometimes I’m not so sure.

Anyways, this year for St Patrick’s day, I went to a restaurant with some friends from work (well my old work anyways) and had a few drinks. It was fun even though it didn’t last long. I didn’t really make any plans it was all sort of last minute but it turned out okay. Maybe tonight I’ll go out and have a good time since I don’t have work to worry about in the morning anyways. Haha…

I just added 4 new brush sets and 6 new stocks, so for those of you who are interested go check them out. I’m really proud of my new brushes and I already have some good ideas of what I’m going to do with them.

The title of this post is the name of a Black Eyed Peas song. They recently released their music video for “Just Can’t Get Enough” a few days ago and it was filmed in Japan so I suggest you guys check it out. If you haven’t heard the song yet, you can listen to it below. My favorite part is near the end where the song starts getting bumpin’ haha. MP3 is from beemp3.com

Ooh, yeah having a bad host can be quite an issue (especially if they leave for months at a time); at least you have a good one now, right? :D Haha! Actually… I’m quite terrible at graphics. I can barely even figure out how to blend two images together (I can do it, but I have to follow a tutorial); either way, it’s pretty generic stuff. I’m just a cartoonist.

Thank you so much. (: Omg… don’t even get me started on the form. That mess was so hard to figure out, but I’m happy how it turned out; it definitely makes the whole layout come together.

That really sucks but I’m in the boat as you. Did you get fired? If so, I don’t think you should use that as a reference when applying for new jobs… they may call back the other place and say you were an awful employee, or something. You’ll probably have to start over from scratch. Hopefully we both get jobs soon! I spent most of my money on clothes so I’m in dire need of new ones. :L *is obsessed*

Wow, a music video filmed in Japan?! How did they do that with the tsunami and stuff? I’m going to guess and say they did it beforehand.

I’m sorry about losing your job, that must be nerve racking. Jobs are really hard to find now. My friend’s mom has been unemployed for almost two years. At first it was not being able to find a job but now it’s become that she’s too lazy to get a job. I hope you find one soon (:

  3. Lindsay Says:

Yeah! I’m really grateful someone pointed it out to me this early on! :)

I’m sorry about your job!! I hope that you find a new job that you like (dislike?) just as much or more! :)

Would you ever consider working at a cafĂ© or something like that? It may not be as good money… but I mean, it would be a start? lol

I love your layout and your graphics are amazing! :) Your work is really impressive. I love your style.

I’m sorry about your job! I hope you find one that you enjoy more. Jobs are scarce now so I seriously hope you can find one soon. :)

I’m glad my post made you think about your first friend, lol. It’s hard trying to keep in contact with old friends. /: You’re spanish? Awesome, I wish I could speak it. It’s an awesome language. :D

I could relate to you about siblings, me and my sister ALWAYS fight over chores and silly things like practising piano last.

  6. Lindsay Says:

Well yeah! You’ll find a good job in time! :)

  7. Yvonne Says:

Thank you :) . I could never make a layout with graphics, ’cause I suck at them. :B

I can only speak english and chinese. Oh my god, you speak French, also?! What else can you do?! LOL. I’m sure you could play an instrument if you really wanted to. ;)

Yeah my dad always tells me to go out & do something when I’m complaining that I’m bored around the house. Then I’ll tell him I have no money. & He said that I can find something to do with no money & I said that’s so far from true. You have to pay to get into most places, if you don’t, have you to pay for gas to get to those places.

I haven’t figured out little things to add on to with wordpress. My layout looks exactly as it did with fanupdate. But when I have time one day I’m definitely going to mess around with it. & you’re layout looks amazing by the way. I love the hover effect you have over the containers (:

    Your layout’s purrrdy. Very swimchick-esque.

Sorry about your job. D: Hopefully you’ll find a new one soon…a better one. I always feel bad for the cart pushers. Well, not the ones that watch me as I place the cart in the corral thing instead of taking it directly from me…but the ones that work hard, yes.

Have you ever considered doing some freelance web design on the side? It might be tough to find work (I always feel like jobs just fall in my lap somehow since I don’t do much to ear them), but it’s worth a shot. There’s a decent amount of money in it.

Thank you very much for the layout compliment! I’m glad it looks good in your browser. :D Which brings me to say, yours looks very nice as well! At first glance, the main wishbone shape made me think it was a whale. I like the modern grunge effect. That’s what I call it, in any case. ;)

I’m sorry to hear you lost your job. I hope you start hearing back from some places soon. What kinds of places have you been applying to?

Since you’re planning to be a graphic artist, are there any local companies and businesses you could intern at? That would be a boost for your resume and give you some good experience.

I hope we’re both able to stick with our sites and maintain them for a good stretch of time. I have been pretty faithful, the last “hiatus” I took was the longest I’ve been away. And that was mostly a critical decision on my part, since I couldn’t be distracted and had to focus on school. I still have to, but the main pressure is gone.

By the way, great new resources!

Wow, I randomly clicked into here… I got fired by sleeping in and I was a cashier for a year and 6 months… Was fired in Janurary, now I’m a dishb!tch because its a job haha… Was jobless for a whooole month =\ vwas’t fun :) Good luck finding one <3 I'm sure you well

I’m kind of glad I live in a place where there are things you can do without money. Like go to parks, walk around on the boardwalk, go to the beach. But when you go out & do those things with friends you’re tempted to go out to eat & go shopping too.

  13. Kelsey Says:

Yeah! I would disapprove my family members but the thing is, they go around or message you saying, “Hey! I’m ___! Why didn’t you approve me? We’re related…” or something of the likes. Awkward.

Ooh, that’s a bit creepy! Yeah, I don’t take that many pictures of myself anyways but that’s because I hate taking pictures. I’m not that social anyways so if someone takes a picture of me, I put my hand up or something. :P That being said, nobody tags me! That amazes me too because I’ll creep random profiles and it says stuff like they were tagged in 1,824 pictures (sometimes even more). That’s like… what. Yeah, I’m not the “keep in touch” kind of person, plus I suck at remembering names, so I have yet to “reconnect” with someone.

Bwaha, I make myself sound like such a social awkward hermit.

Some people don’t care and will post whatever the hell they want even if they do have their parents added. I actually kinda care since I live with one of them. :L Yeah, Twitter gets more points because people don’t see the “relevance” in it so they don’t bother signing up. ;)

In my 1.5 years of blogging, I’ve gone through three hosts. The first was a sub-domain, second was hosting I paid but she closed so I was taken over by HER host which hosts me a free reseller for life. :D It’s awesome too because the server never goes down.

Thank you! It’s quite funny how that works out… I want to learn how to do one thing, but someone else who knows how to do that one thing, wants to do something I do but could honestly care less about. XD I don’t know, I find that weird.

Hmm… where do you live around? That’s the style that’s around here in Miami but if I remember correctly, Jersey Shore was recently here a season or two ago. :P Argh! Speaking of clothes, I’ve been finding so many awesome sales lately and I look in my pockets? FUCKING EMPTY. *cuts a bitch*
